Hey, it’s Rose Bowl Eve! And we haven’t blogged anything in over a week. Is anyone surprised by that? This blogging thing is hard! We’ve been doing it for over three years, you think we would have figured that out. Has anything happened while we were gone?

The week of impending doom is upon us. The Boys from Troy will invade the Horseshoe this weekend. From what we at MotSaG can tell, this looks to be an epic beatdown just waiting to happen. I mean really it is the perfect storm for a team to come into Columbus and win with a freshman quarterback in front of 105,000 crazed and mildly intoxicated OSU fans.

This off-season has been particularly grueling for the sportsMonkey and I. I know I’ve mentioned this anytime we come back for a post or two, promising for regular content, only to go on hiatus time after time. This time, we mean it.
So the burnout of another season took it’s toll on the MotSaG…or more particularly YNBA…
Surprised? Not Really. It is tough to come up with brilliant material on a weekly basis when nothing is going on in the college football landscape.
Hey, look! It’s the monthly post at Men of the Scarlet and Gray, proclaiming that, “We’re not dead.” It’s true!
In all honesty, the Monkey and I burned out this past football season, tried to get the gumption to continue regular posts through basketball season, but didn’t have much gas left in the tank.
As often happens around these parts around the end of the NCAA tournament, things have slowed to a crawl in terms of posting frequency and snarkacy. We don’t officially go into hibernation mode, but past performance has pointed to a reduced number of posts.
We’re reaching out to our great Buckeye readership with a simple bleg. We’ve been contacted by someone looking for a copy of a 2007 Ohio State Gameday Program. Unfortunately, she doesn’t know which game it was from. The only things she knows about it is that it has “Ohio State Football 2007″ in the bottom left hand corner and that it contains this article:

Yes, football is a brutal sport. As Buckeye fans, we have seen our share of slobber-knocking hits over the years. But honestly? Rugby has always intrigued and fascinated me. The pure, unadulterated violence is second-to-none. These guys know how to hit.

Just a quick announcement of last week’s “Predict the Score” contest winner, NMUSpidey. His prediction of 13-9 was the closest to the final, paltry score 16-3.
Congrats for being conservative, not going for the big offensive explosion we’re all still waiting for.
People that went to a smaller school in Ohio and feel the need to belittle the quality of education provided at The Ohio State University.
