I sold my soul to God in 2002;
now I need your help.

OSU FootballI promised God that if he would allow my Buckeyes to win a national championship in 2002, I would never complain again about Ohio State coaches or players or playcalling or about any losses, and that I wouldn’t go into a coma after a loss to Michigan, like I did during the Cooper era.

So you maybe asking yourself why am I bringing this up. I can’t sell my soul again. I need another passionate, Hang on Sloopy loving, scarlet and gray bleeding, OSU fan to make the same deal that I did.

Sell your soul to God, NOT the devil (Michigan fan). Make this deal and I assure you we will win handily and will enjoy another NC. Then a few years from now you must make this same plea to fellow Buckeyes.

Why there will be no rematch in the BCS
NC game in simplest form….

FootballThere is absolutely no chance that the BCS and every other conference in the NCAA will allow the Big 10 to have both teams in the game. There are 42 million reasons for this not to happen. That is the approximate payout for the two teams that play in the NC game, which tOSU and scUM would have to share with the rest of the Big 10. That would take money away from another conference and/or team. If there is one thing I have learned in my 21+ years of being a college football fan, it is that it is all just a business… No one will allow this to happen unless every other contender loses again.

The Legend of Troy Smith is building….

Here are a few uncommonly known facts about Troy Smith and the legend he is building.

1. When you open a Can of Whoop-Ass, Troy Smith pops out.

2. If you can see Troy Smith, he can see you. If you can’t see Troy Smith, he is in the locker room celebrating his defeat of you.

3. Troy Smith is NOT hung like a horse, horses are hung like Troy Smith.

4. Troy Smith sleeps with the light on, not because he is afraid of the dark, but because the dark is afraid of him.

5. It is often thought, “what came first: the chicken or the egg?” In fact the real question is, “What came first: Troy Smith or awesomeness?”

6. Troy Smith’s handshake grip is so strong he once inadvertantly turned a man into a diamond.

7. Troy Smith’s poop is considered currency in Argentina

8. When Troy Smith does push-ups, he does not push himself up. He pushes the Earth down.

9. We dropped the Nukes on Japan because it was more humane then sending in Troy Smith.

10. Troy Smith can touch MC Hammer.

Team Chivas beats Team Galaxy 3-1….

You may be wondering why this is on this site because neither of these teams are from Ohio. Well actually they both are. Team Chivas is my 4 year old son Eli’s soccer team. His team won 3-1 and is now 3-1* on the season, even though they dont keep score or award victories or losses in any game. I, as a ridiculously advid sports fan, do keep track of said info.

P.S. My son Eli although I love him very much has about as much athleticism as his good old Dad. So look for him to be blogging about sports in the future instead of playing them.

P.P.S. The one loss his team has I feel needs an asterisk as I am sure a couple of the the other teams players were like 12 years old and not 4 or 5.

First ever high school football post.

Myself and Zeke went to a high school football game between my Hometown team, the Upper Arlington Golden Bears, and el Kaiser’s home school, the Dublin Coffman Shamrocks. Just a few highlights will be given as to not depress el Kaiser too much.

First half was marred by a lot of turnovers, unfortunately for el Kaiser they were all by his team: 3 INTs and 1 blocked punt. That led the Golden Bears to a 17-0 halftime lead. The second half wasn’t much better for him, they threw 2 more INTs. Dublin did manage to make a couple of late drives to make it respectable final score of 24-14. The game was never really in doubt, though, as UA controlled both sides of the ball for the entire game. Upper Arlington is now 6-1 and Dublin Coffman is 5-2.

A few side notes from some discussions that Zeke and I had was that we were utterly surpised how big both teams were (espeacially #75 of Dublin — if he isn’t recruited by Div. 1 colleges I will be shocked). The home crowds (UA) student section was pretty amazing and loud and very school spirited all game long. Overall we thought it was a good environment for football fans and families alike. We will say that we probably talked more about OSU than we watched actual plays, though.

We are hoping this may turn into us (contributors to MotSaG) doing some more High School games if for no other reason than to see some of the Buckeye recruits in action. It was cheap and fun and gave us a good idea as to what to expect from a High School Football game since it has been more than 10 years since we were at one. LOL we are getting way old.

[HWSNBN] has plead guilty…..

It’s 3 1/2 years for HWSNBN.

Why Marcel Why?

Ohio State tight end Marcel Frost was suspended for the upcoming season for violating team rules.

Athletic department officials declined to comment on the nature of the violation. Frost will remain on scholarship and will be eligible to rejoin the team next season, school spokesman Dan Wallenberg said Wednesday.

Frost played nine games and started the final five last season after Ryan Hamby suffered a knee injury, catching seven passes for 70 yards.

The 6-foot-5, 255-pound Frost was expected to start this season for the Buckeyes, the preseason No. 1 in the coaches’ poll, but now sophomore Rory Nicol likely will get the nod.

Information from The Associated Press and SportsTicker was used in this report.

Erik Haw Update

This may be old news about Erik Haw transferring, but I thought everyone would like to know where he is going.

Former Ohio State running back Erik Haw said he will transfer to Jackson State in Mississippi.

Haw rushed for 61 yards and a touchdown on 14 carries last season for the Buckeyes. He said he decided to transfer after learning he would likely be low on the depth chart at running back (Antonio Pittman and young stud Chris Wells will be 1 and 2) going into this year. He’s a sophomore with three years of eligibility remaining.

By going to Division I-AA Jackson State, Haw is eligible to play immediately instead of having to sit out a season if he went to another Division I school.

Haw went to Independence High School in Columbus. He played in four games with the Buckeyes last year.
