Dontre Wilson Undergoes Surgery on Broken Foot; Will Miss Rest of Regular Season

According to a report from our friends at Eleven Warriors, h-back and kickoff returner Dontre Wilson underwent successful foot surgery Sunday night after breaking his foot against Michigan State on Saturday night. Urban Meyer confirmed this news at his press conference this morning.

Meyer said of Wilson’s injury at the press conference: “He actually caught a touchdown pass with a broken foot. He’s out for a few weeks. I don’t know the extent. They may have to put a pin in it.”

Wilson caught two passes for 23 yards and a touchdown against the Spartans, but you could tell he was clearly off after dropping several passes and fumbling two kickoff returns. He still played through the pain though and caught a crucial touchdown pass late in the game to help get the win for the Buckeyes. Wilson is not expected back until at least bowl season, so it’s a tough blow for the Buckeyes as they prepare the final three games of the season and a possible matchup in Indianapolis for the Big Ten Championship.

  1. That’s a shame. I took some frustration out on Dontre after the fumble and the dropped pass, but I love the dude and his fiestiness. I hope he can recover and make it back for the bowl game.

Luckily there is little to no drop-off from Tre to Jalin.

    • Yes you hate to see this. I was frustrated with him too during the game, but now I feel bad for it. He played his tail off despite a broken foot. He played better than some players do 100% healthy. I’m sure Jalin and the rest will be able to pick up the slack.

  2. Larry Collett says

Good Luck Dontre! You will be back before you know it
