With the 31st pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, the Denver Broncos selected Ohio State cornerback Bradley Roby. The Broncos need help in their secondary and Roby will be a big help in that cause. Roby, who chose to forgo his senior season, struggled with injuries in 2013 and did not play in the 2014 Orange Bowl. Roby was a two time All-Big Ten selection and a second team All-American in 2012. Take a look at what your brand new cornerback brings to the team, Broncos’ fans:
Here were some of the reactions to the pick on Twitter, including from the man himself Urban Meyer:
Congrats to Roby going to the Broncos in the first round. Great night for the Buckeyes!

Roby is the second Buckeye player drafted in the first round tonight. Earlier, Ryan Shazier was picked 15th overall by the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Roby faked his injury for the Orange Bowl because he didn’t want to be torched by Sammy Watkins. He was burned by mediocre receivers throughout the year.
This seems to be the prevailing thoughts on Roby, but do you have any solid proof of “faking his injury”? Seems to be more like groupthink than anything else.
Roby and Shazier going to Denver and Pittsburgh are the textbook definition of mixed emotions for a Buckeye AND Browns fan.
Good luck to them both, except when they come to Cleveland!
Definitely. The Steelers always seem to take a Buckeye. If only the Ohio teams would take more Buckeyes. Haha.
Yep, Jeremiah and I talk about this all the time — it would foster a lot of goodwill between Buckeye fans and the Browns organization if they would at least take a flyer on a Buckeye in the 3rd or 4th round. Maybe they still feel burned for taking Robiskie so high back in the day.
