Three Yards and a Cloud of Links

Good morning Buckeye Nation.

Basketball Schedule: The Ohio State men’s basketball team has unveiled the 2013-2014 regular season schedule. The pre-conference schedule has the Buckeyes playing Marquette (not on a ship so shouldn’t be canceled), Maryland, and Notre Dame. The Big Ten promises to be another grueling ride with so much strong teams and talent.

“The makeup of our team this year gives us another opportunity to be successful in the Big Ten and nationally,” Matta said. “Once again our league is extraordinarily talented across the board. We are fortunate to have a veteran group this year who have been through the rigors of the conference season and have been successful in postseason play.”

I’m sure its going to be another fun ride this upcoming season for Matta and company. Can’t wait for their season to start but their is this football thing that will hold me over.

Runners on their Mark: The Buckeyes men and women cross country teams will be opening up their season this Saturday at the Flyer 5k Challenge in Kettering.

The Buckeye men’s cross country team have three newcomers to their team while eleven members are returners. The Buckeyes are ranked sporting a pre-season ranking of eighth in the Great Lakes region.

The Buckeyes women’s team has one newcomer and seventeen returners. The Lady Buckeyes are sporting a pre-season ranking of seventh in the Great Lakes Region.

Good Luck to the Running Buckeyes this weekend and on their upcoming season.

The Shoe: The Ohio State University Department of Athletics is asking you to wear their scarlet and or grey depending on what section you will be sitting in as to be a part of “Scarlet and Gray The Shoe”. Please click the link to find what colors to the corresponding areas.

Award Winning Show: A regional Emmy award winning show debuts this weekend. Gametime with Urban Meyer will be broadcast Friday Night on WBNS-10TV from 7-8pm and on Fox Sports Ohio on Saturday morning at 9-10am. Coach Meyer will be joined by other Buckeye Nation experts to breakdown the roster, upcoming game and will have in depth interviews.

Women Win Again: The Buckeye women’s soccer team moved to 3-0 on the season with a victory last night over Pittsburg. Alexis Degler and Kayla Varner scored the goals for the Buckeyes.

“I really feel like we’re getting better every game,” Ohio State head coach Lori Walker said. “Pittsburgh is a tough opponent. They defended very well and were very organized behind the ball but we were fortunate enough to be able to find the back of the net in the run of play.”

Even though we don’t play Pitt in football anytime a Buckeye team beats Mark May’s alma mater it just brings a smile to my face. Good job Buckeyes and continued success.

2 Days: We are two days away from the opening game at the ‘Shoe. So in honor of Number 2 here is a couple highlight videos for you.

Hope the “New” targeting rule doesn’t cost Bryant any time on the bench this season.

Until next time Buckeye Nation…

  1. I agree, any win over Pitt is like a personal dig at Mark May.

Oh, OSU’s debate team beat Pitt? Good.
