Three Yards and a Cloud of Links

Good Morning Buckeye Nation.

New Ice: Today lets start off with some Hockey stuff.

The ice is down! #GoBucks #OhioState #Hockey

The Ohio State Men’s Hockey twitter account has been active and they have posted pics of the new Ice for the Schott.

Kind of feels weird to be talking hockey already especially since football hasn’t even started which by the way is now into the single days countdown!!!

New Uni’s: The same Buckeye hockey twitter feed unveiled a new jersey for the upcoming season.

I have to admit I feels its pretty sweet looking and not being a fan of the sport (which is probably going to start changing because of Ohio State and the BlueJackets) I actually would like one of these jersey’s.

Oh Captain: The Buckeye Hockey team also announcing the team captain for the 2013-2014 season. The team voted senior Curtis Gedig who has played in 100 games to wear the “C” on his scarlet and gray uniform and juniors Ryan Dzingel and Tanner Fritz to wear the “A” (alternate captains) on theirs.

“We feel really good about the three players who will be leading the team this year,” Steve Rohlik, in his first year as the Buckeyes’ head coach, said. “The maturity all three show both on and off the ice and the way they carry themselves is an example of how we want each member of our team to represent Ohio State.”

Ohio State women’s soccer also announced their captain for their season that is getting ready to get underway.

Junior Midfielder Ellyn Gruber was tapped with the honor. Gruber who is a 2012 Academic all Big Ten and a Two time OSU Scholar-Athlete played in 44 games for the scarlet and gray last two seasons.

Congrats to the four newly appointed leaders and we can’t wait for another exciting season.

Exhibition Win: The Buckeye men’s soccer team The Buckeyes scored both goals in the first half. The first being scored by sophomore Alex Bujenovic who also assisted newcomer Max Moller on his. Junior Yianni Sarris had a hand in helping with the two goals while junior transfer Andrian McAdams was the only player to play all 90 minutes. McAdmas ,goalkeeper, came up with 5 saves.

“What we really wanted to do tonight was take a look at all our players,” John Bluem, who enters his 17th season as Ohio State head coach, said. “Basically, we started a group that didn’t play very much in the first exhibition game. We gave them a run in the first half and they definitely showed some moments of promise.”

Ohio State has its final exhibition match this Monday in South Bend before they open the season in the Bert and Iris Wolstein Classic Aug. 30-Sept. 1. They will face UNC-Wilmington for their first regular season match up.

Nueve: In honor of the football regular season countdown going into single digits I will leave you will this years new #9 Devin Smith and his awesome one handed catch.

Until Next time Buckeye Nation…

Comments

  1. That Devin Smith catch never gets old. We need to see more of those this year, but I think Miller’s going to end up being too accurate to see many spectacular catches!
