Carlos Hyde suspension announced

As we have since the beginning we will post all of the happenings and it is official Carlos Hyde has been suspended for at least the first 3 games of the season and will have to meet other obligations to be put back on the team full time.

As was reported by Doug Lesmerises, of The Cleveland Plain Dealer just moments ago…

Ohio State coach Urban Meyer has suspended senior running back Carlos Hyde for at least three games for his actions in an event at a Columbus nightclub last weekend.

Meyer announced his decision after Columbus police earlier Tuesday announced that no charges would be filed against Hyde. Meyer said that Hyde will also have to fulfill other obligations before he can return to the team.

Carlos Hyde was not charged with a crime but Coach Meyer determined that his transgressions violated the team and University code of conduct. Let’s hope this ends this saga for good and Carlos takes the necessary steps to get back on the team.

Comments

  1. I can’t be mad with three games. It should fall in that sweet spot of not too harsh since he wasn’t charged with anything and not too soft that Urban appears soft. I like it.

Plus, he misses San Diego State and Cal, which are not gimmes. This should give Smith/Dunn/Ball/et al solid, meaningful playing time.

    I can live with this.

  2. Yeah it seems pretty reasonable…

  2. […] 1. Florida A&M (09/21/2013; kickoff TBA; Ohio Stadium): When the national media rip on Ohio State for not playing anybody, look to this game as Exhibit A. An FCS school, that went 4-7 in 2012?!? Ohio State should win this one comfortably and easily by about thirty points, maybe more. Look for Coach Meyer to play as many backup players as possible in this one, as this is the last game before B1G conference play begins the next week. The most notable thing about this game – this is the game that marks the possible return of Carlos Hyde from his early-season suspension. […]
