Okay, just this comment: Yes, OSU’s defense gives up scores 81 percent of the time in the red zone. They’ve only allowed opposing offenses into the red zone 16 times. That’s less than twice per game.

There were 2 gift touchdowns, 1 for USC and the other for Penn State, that were really stopped. Therefore, a defacto 11/16=68% We don’t get those TDs back, but the reality is that they were stopped.

It really is a very good, almost scary good, defense. If the offense were consistently average on the year (think 2002), and fewer dumb turnovers, the opponents number of plays and time-of-possession would be even lower, and the defense would show even better.
