The Washington Saga continues

OSU FootballReal quickly: It was reported that Donald Washington and Eugene Clifford were to be suspended for the Bourbon Bowl.

Later, we learn that just Clifford was out. It appeared that Washington had not been suspended and was in the clear.

Now, the Dispatch is reporting that Washington was suspended, but is appealing said suspension. We won’t no what comes of this for a while now. Hopefully we’ll all get a nice present after the Holiday break.

(On a side note, you know who didn’t get a nice present? All of Lloyd Carr’s assistants.)

  1. Pryor, whose team is still playing and battles Wilmington Area (New Wilmington, Pa.) this weekend, is looking more closely at the style of offense of each team on his list.

“That concerns me about Ohio State because they’ve never run an offense like the one we run at my high school or that they run at West Virginia, Florida, Oregon or other places. I’d like to see them run it first so I could believe they’ll change it but I’m obviously not going to get to see that so it creates doubt.

If Pryor isn’t being misquoted there, then that’s a shame that an 18 year old would have that much conceitedness. Maybe he isn’t OSU material, after all.

At any rate, if one looks at the three WILDLY different offenses that Tressel has taken to the title game, then one has all the proof he needs that Tressel can adapt any offense to the skills of his talent. Pro set, spread option, or two TE I-formation, he’s built teams of very different flavors that have become title contenders.
